The beams are made of specially crafted cold-rolled P-shaped closed-end beams. This structure is characterized by its simplicity, reliability, light weight, strong load-bearing capacity, and low cost. When connecting the column clamp to the column, a specially designed safety pin is provided to ensure that the beam will not fall off under external impact. The Chinese storage rack industry lacks unified standards in production and use, which has hindered its development. To address this issue, six industry standards for storage racks have been formally established, and two national standards are in the public consultation phase for approval. Shanghai Guobao Logistics System Engineering Co., Ltd. introduced the development and main contents of two industry standards for "Pallet Racks" and "Through-type Racks". Some storage rack companies in Nanjing introduced the application status and preparation plans for two national standards that have been publicly announced, namely "Design and Calculation of Modular Industrial Racks" and "Specifications and Rated Load Capacity of Industrial Racks". Participating units also discussed the current situation, problems, and future directions of work related to storage rack industry standards. It is a welcome phenomenon that storage rack manufacturing enterprises are holding meetings to discuss standards and undertaking standard development, indicating their emphasis on standard work. In the process of standard development, the following issues need to be addressed: First, several basic aspects should be emphasized. For storage rack standards, there are two fundamental issues: one is size, and the other is the balance between quality and cost, which should be integrated into the "essence" of the entire storage rack standard. Any standard should have a basic structure, avoiding excessive complexity. The concepts should be appropriately refined, and the position of the standard within the entire standard system should be clear. In the development of standards, simplicity should be prioritized, avoiding complexity, as standards are summaries and refinements of mature technologies. Second, international standards should be studied and referenced as much as possible, with the framework of international standards serving as our own framework, learning from their concepts and methods. Third, efforts should be made to strengthen the collection of basic data and enhance research and investigation, especially for quantitative standards, with more attention paid to the study of classic cases.
